My favourite brands are those that are timeless, with a story and built to last, those that may seem expensive at first but end up lasting a lifetime. They rely heavily on heritage, tradition, and craftsmanship.
Here's a list, and I plan to cross Africa with some of these brands: - Amundsen Sports. Timeless Norwegian outdoor clothing. Although relatively new, it's been built by Roald Amundsen's great grandson, the first man to reach the South Pole. This brand speaks exploration to me. - Belstaff. My father had a green Belstaff Trialmaster during his early childhood, he met my mother wearing one, it's still at home. So many great motorcyclists have worn their jackets, I need to be part of the clan too. - Red Wing Shoes. Made to last, meant to be handed down. American made shoes worn by the likes of Steve McQueen during the Scottish Six Day Trials. Their toughness speaks for themselves. - Panama Jack. Made in Spain, I've crossed the whole world wearing Panama Jacks, I bought my first pair when I was 19 and decided to buy a motorcycle in Bolivia to cross the country. I've worn them on every trip since, repaired them a bunch of time too. My Dad always wore Panama Jacks on his adventures. - Uniqlo. They make basics, yet so well built. - Persol. Stylish, functional, timeless. I don't even wear sunglasses, but when I do, I aim for Persol. - Tag Heuer. It's their racing legacy that catches my attention, they were the ones building chronographs in the early 30s so they could time the race cars. Comments are closed.
