Book your trip.
Over the years while doing research and going on these trips I've collected contacts from all over the world. If you'd like to recreate some of the trips I've done, just get in touch with me and I'll point you in the right direction.
Trips.
The Pamir is home to extremely remote landscapes, no cell phone coverage, and welcoming locals.
In my opinion the best way to get around it is by motorbike - it's easy, fixable on the go and it allows you to go off the beaten path if you want. But another option is on 4x4. You can read more about the Pamir Highway on my blog here. Trip Details.Best Time to go: June - September
Max. Group Size: 8 people Vehicle: Yamaha XT600E Motorbike Price: $100/day aprox. Daily Budget: $30-$40 (excluding vehicle) Recommended Timeframe: 9 -14 days for the Pamir Highway. +5 days to see Kyrgyzstan. |
Niseko is home to the world's driest powder, it also helps that it's one of the snowiest places on earth.
I've been to Niseko 3 times, at one point I lived there for 5 months - working at a backcountry guiding company. There's nothing quite like skiing the world's best snow with amazing guides, then going to an onsen after skiing and finishing off the day with Hokkaido's famous ramen. You can watch a video of my first time there in 2017, or do some reading in my blog here or here. Trip Details.Best Time to go: January - February
Max. Group Size: 7-8 people Gear: I recommend bringing all your gear, but if you can't, I can always get you set up with fat powder skis or splitboards. Daily Budget: $200 aprox. Recommended Timeframe: 7-10 days. 5 days of skiing an one or 2 night in Tokyo works nicely. |
Raja Ampat is the most beautiful place I've ever been to, it's also one of the most remote regions out there.
The best way to enjoy Raja Ampat is to book your own charter with a crew and sail around the islands. This is scuba diving paradise, but it's also enjoyable if you kayak, snorkel or just walk around villages and virgin islands. This is no backpacking trip, it requires a considerable budget. You can see some photos of my trip here. Trip Details.Best Time to go: October - April
Group Size: 2-8 people Gear: I recommend bringing your own diving mask. Daily Budget: Enquire. Recommended Timeframe: 6-10 days of sailing. |
If you only have a long weekend available, then these trips are for you:
La Cerdaña is characterised by it's orientation, a valley in the Spanish Pyrenees that goes from east to west, which makes it one of the valleys with most hours of sunshine in Europe.
A great way to see this valley is on horseback, enjoying the snowy capped mountains and staying overnight in a mountain hut. A two or three day ride is enough to give you that cowboy feeling. Trip Details.Best Time to go: April - September
Group Size: 4-8 people Gear: Cowboy hat, Sleeping bag (if you have one) Daily Budget: 120€ aprox. Recommended Timeframe: 2 days (1 night). |
Morocco is a stone's throw away from Europe, and it's home to one of the best motorbike playgrounds in the world.
A long weekend riding in the Atlas Mountains will get you out of your confort zone, enjoy the Berber villages, mountain passes, flat sand beds and of course the famous oueds. The country's infrastructure is well adapted and you don't need to spend days searching for motorbikes, preparing the trips, etc. It's easy! Even with a 3 day ride is enough to have a proper adventure. Trip Details.Best Time to go: March - June
Group Size: 2-5 people Gear: Boots, Helmet, Jacket, Pants Vehicle: Honda Africa Twin or Yamaha Tenere 700 Vehicle Budget: 160€/day aprox. Daily Budget: 60€ aprox. Recommended Timeframe: 3-6 days. |
